10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Upcoming Movies

4. Nemo Will Go To University €“ Finding Dory

Eleven years after the previous film, Toy Story 3 came along with Andy just about to head off to college. Genius as it was not only for allowing for the passage of time, but arriving just as those who grew up with the first two features were also leaving home. Twelve years after the first film, Monsters University took everyone€™s favourite monsters to, as the title suggests, university, the release timed perfectly to coincide with the identical big life event its original audience were now embarking on. Finding Dory comes thirteen years after Finding Nemo and... yeah, you don€™t need a degree to see where I€™m going with this. When people go to university they become naturally recollective of their childhood and, not stuck in the grump of early teens, are much more open to the simple joys nostalgia. It€™s only inevitable someone would capitalise on it. Pixar€™s films are normally suitable for everyone, with major instant appeal for kids and the fanboys, but throwing in the university angle of old favourites brings in a whole other generation not targeted by animation. Although they€™re still brimming with creativity, there is a sense Pixar are slipping slightly into formula. And thus it makes a grown up Nemo taking steps in the big world of further study, feel like an inevitability.
