10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Upcoming Movies

3. Michael Douglas Will Play A Young Hank Pym With The Aid Of CGI €“ Ant-Man

When Paul Rudd was named Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man", the ambiguity of the character name (there are three heroes who€™ve donned the shrinking costume) suggested there could be some more super-casting to come. And boy were we right; Michael Douglas will play Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man who will hand the costume down to Rudd (who must be playing Scott Lang). Suddenly, Marvel€™s least intriguing film has grown into a must-see. Quite how much the sixty-nine year old actor will be in the film remains to be seen €“ the initial excitement over the announcement is only just dying down after all €“ but as it's the modern-day world (no doubt recovering from Ultron's antics earlier in the summer) where most of the film will be set, he€™ll probably be an Obi-Wan-like mentor to the younger Rudd. Captain America aside, the films have been a mostly present day affair. But now we have an opportunity, nay incentive, for a vibrant sixties/seventies setting. It would require the normally shaky CGI de-aging (think Jeff Bridges in TRON: Legacy), but Wright would be crazy to not include at least some of Douglas' Pym in his prime.
