10 Shocking Horror Movies Where THIS Happened

There are so many wonderfully imaginative killings over the course of five Final Destination films (soon to be six) that it's hard to boil it down to one (Candice's gymnasium death, where she flies from the parallel bars and folds herself in half is a serious contender) but for sheer inventiveness it has to be Ms. Lewton's demise at the hand of, well, seemingly everything in the kitchen.

In this first instalment, a group of teens (and one teacher) survive a plane crash and essentially 'cheat' death, only to be picked off one by one in a series of increasingly grisly and frankly hilarious set pieces. Only hero Alex knows the craic but Ms. Lewton has no idea what's about to happen...

First, she pours vodka into a cracked mug, spilling a trail of alcohol onto her PC, which explodes and fires glass into her neck. Sparks ignite the vodka, which in turn blows up the cooker. She then reaches for a tea towel to stem the bleeding and pulls a loaded knife block over and stabs herself in the chest. A shelving unit collapses, further igniting the cooker, forcing the door to fly open, which hits a chair and forces the knife further into her chest.

She looks pretty dead by this point.

Finally, the house detonates in a ball of flames, capping the joyous sequence with the conclusion it so deserved. If you weren't in hysterics by this point, there may be no saving you after all. Roll on FD6 and more ludicrous Rude Goldberg style deaths.
