10 Most Shocking John Travolta Haircuts
5. Pulp Hair - Pulp Fiction
Quentin Tarantino is a true auteur with an impressive collection of masterpieces under his belt (yes, even 'From Dusk Till Dawn'). One of his most-loved and well-received is of course his 1994 classic 'Pulp Fiction'. A non-linear and extremely quotable crime drama, it boats an impressive cast list (Travolta, Uma Therman, Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Walken to name but a few) and an even more impressive ponytail pinned to the back of Travolta's head.
Travolta stars as hitman Vincent Vega, in the role that reinvigorated his career yet was almost lost to Daniel Day-Lewis or baldy-pants Bruce Willis. But John was having none of that nonsense, oh no. He was getting the part and having that ponytail whatever the cost. Together, Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson created two of the most famous and recognisable hitmen in cinema (I have a poster of the pair of them taken pride and place on my bedroom wall). They're cool as cucumbers, endearing and philosophical, and bicker like an old married couple.
With the black suits and skinny ties, they're a snazzy duo who mean business and get the result they're after (apart from the incident with Marvin, but that was just unfortunate). But the true stars are those hairstyles: the ponytail and the 'fro. Together they are totally formidable, and in Travolta's memorable dance scene with Uma (is it in his contract that he must dance in every film?!) just look at the way it doesn't even move, not an inch. It simply obeys its master.
