10 Shocking Twists That Would Ruin 2016's Biggest Movies

1. Fantastic Four Is Canonised - X-Men: Apocalypse

It's been a good few months since Fant4stic was dumped into cinemas and I still can't quite get over how bad it was. Dour in tone, lazily acted and utterly horrendous on a production level, it's the worst superhero movie since, well, Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer. The only thing worse than how slapdash the reboot was, however, is that its failure on just about every level hasn't led to Fox finally cutting their losses and shelving Marvel's First Family - it may not make the planned June 2017 release date, but Fantastic Four 2 is very much on the cards. Of course, they do face one big hurdle in the form of convincing people to go see more from a property that has consistently produced terrible movies. How do they event start to repair that loss of trust? Well, one way to stoke excitement would be to tie the Four into a different, much more popular and successful franchise (an association trick Marvel's used to great effect multiple times); in this case, a reference or even cameo (probably from Franklin Storm given the timeline) in X-Men: Apocalypse that canonises Fant4stic. That would be great for Fox. And terrible for everyone else. Even a subtle background Easter egg would not only illicit a pretty big sigh from a movie that should be deep-fried awesomeness, but it'd sour the whole X-Men franchise, forcing it to pull up the shoddy work of its colleague. Plus it'd pave the way for more Fantastic Four and nobody, not even Fantastic Four fans, want that any more. Would you like to see any of these twists?
