10 Short Sentences That Ruin Major Films

5. Bruce Wayne Magically Reappears In Gotham - The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

As one of the most highly-anticipated movies in history, Christopher Nolan's concluding chapter in the Dark Knight Trilogy was always going to come under intense scrutiny. While the movie is still great and is often judged incredibly harshly, the narrative does have several plot holes large enough to drive the Tumbler through, the biggest of which is Bruce Wayne's miraculous return to Gotham just in time to save the day. A character that is not to be underestimated simply because he's the goddamn Batman, Wayne's sudden reappearance on home turf does stretch the limits of credibility in a movie where an entire police force is sent underground at the same time. Despite being beaten to a pulp, imprisoned by his arch nemesis and having absolutely no resources to his name, Bruce manages to escape the prison ruled by his enemy, travel halfway across the world, sneak into a fortified city that is under Bane's control, reacquire his gadgets and engineer an elaborate flaming Bat-signal without anybody noticing. Surely word would have reached Bane somehow that the guy he had engineered a plan to dump in an inescapable prison had managed to find his way out?

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
