Disney Star Wars In 2006, entertainment powerhouse Disney purchased the acclaimed animation studio Pixar. This lead to some concerns that Disney would interfere with Pixar€™s productions, ruining their mojo, and possibly causing a dip in the quality of Pixar€™s films. Surprisingly, Disney took a hands-off approach, letting the studio operate as a separate entity. Pixar went on to produce some of its most acclaimed films including Up, Wall-E, and Toy Story 3. History repeated itself in 2009 when Disney purchased Marvel studios. After initial concerns that Disney would tamper with the Marvel product, the studio let Marvel do its own thing with spectacular results. Now, Disney has once again purchased an established studio with a devoted fan base. Star Wars fans may be concerned that Disney could tamper with the Star Wars franchise until it becomes unrecognizable. Given Disney€™s recent track record, these fears appear to be unfounded. So far, Disney has stuck with its tradition of staying out of the way of the way and letting the people who know how to entertain the fans do their job. Disney€™s string of recent fan-friendly hits is a very positive sign that the studio will give the fans the Star Wars movie they€™ve wanted since Return of the Jedi.
