10 Signs Warner Bros. Have No Clue About Batman V Superman

6. No Jokes

Ever noticed that Marvel movies unanimously have a lighter tone than the majority of blockbuster cinema? Well Warner Bros. certainly have, because in a bid to make their shared superhero universe distinct they've done the exact opposite, making their movies head-bangingly serious. After all, people only mildly hated that about Man Of Steel. The only reason the so called "no joke" policy D.C. is reported to have adopted with their Cinematic Universe exists is because they're painfully aware they're playing second fiddle to Marvel. And while it's fair enough they want to be noticeably different to their rivals, just doing the exact opposite isn't the way to do it. They've already reversed the method of building the world, bringing us a slew of ensemble movies before most of their heroes get a stand-alone outing, but this droll approach is a step too far. Not only does it make their desperate attempts at distance painfully obvious, but it mars the possibility of these comic book movies being fun. Because who wants that?
