10 Slasher Movies That Never Got A Sequel (But Should Have)

Just about every holiday has gotten its own horror movie, and April Fool's Day isn't the most well appreciated of the bunch. It's a lot slower and more mystery driven than your average slasher, and there isn't too much gore, but the film still offers a lot for more patient fans to enjoy.

From the director of When A Stranger Calls, April Fool's Day follows seven college students who spend their Spring Break at an island mansion their friend owns. Suddenly, they begin to go missing one by one, all the phones lines go out, and conveniently, they don't have any way to leave the island until after April Fool's Day is over. Although that might sound kind of generic, this is far from your typical slasher.

The mystery elements are all interesting, and unlike Friday the 13th, where the killer just turns out to be some random woman you've never met, the solution to the whole thing is pretty clever. The fact that it's so atypical for the genre means a followup might have been difficult, but by that final scene, it's hard to imagine there isn't just a bit left to explore in this universe.
