Trejo came from a criminal history to go on to become a personality people love to hear from.
He has appeared in over 350 productions of varying scale, but almost always plays an instrumental part in what makes them great. His presence is always appreciated whether he's playing a lead or cameo, as he is more of a fun personality than an actor.
With that being said, he still clearly has a lot of skill as a performer, and the amount of roles he has had shows that he genuinely works hard. His IMDB currently lists an absurd 29 pending films, giving the actor an almost insurmountable workload.
Trejo deserves to have a big break in something that can show off his potential as a significant screen performer.
