10 Small Changes That Would Fix Terrible Films

10. Make Deadpool Faithful To The Comics - X-Men Origins: Wolverine

The Problem: Near the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, we find out that Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) hasn't in fact been killed, but turned into a mutant terminator called Weapon XI, who William Stryker refers to as "Deadpool".

The fan favourite comic book character, nicknamed "The Merc with a Mouth" for his quick-witted, fourth wall-breaking banter, doesn't even have a mouth in the movie: it's sewn up so he's reduced to a robotic killing machine. In addition to this, he's got a bunch of ridiculous powers he never had in the comics, and his bizarre appearance caused him to be mockingly referred to as "Baraka" (in reference to the Mortal Kombat character).

Why It Would Fix The Film: Alright, so Origins still wouldn't be a great film even if Deadpool were portrayed correctly, but it would be instantly much more entertaining. To any self-respecting comic book fan, this just felt like a slap in the face, to throw in a much-loved character and then deliberately alter a number of his most notable features for...no reason at all. Even if it still ended with Wolverine cutting his head off, it would be a lot more fun if Reynolds were allowed to speak and the character halfway resembled his popular iteration as we saw years later with a faithful adaptation of the character.

Given that there are large chunks of the movie that aren't bad at all (Liev Schreiber is a blast as Sabretooth), we'd give it a pass if they didn't screw up Deadpool quite so spectacularly.
