The Problem: Ang Lee's ambitious yet misguided 2003 Hulk is a long film at 138 minutes, and Lee, coming from the world of art-house cinema, isn't in the habit of rushing things. To that end, though, it's a whole 42 minutes before we see the big green dude for the first time, which for a movie aimed at the casual viewerbase and specifically children, is just too damn long.

Why It Would Fix The Film: By the time the Hulk shows up, audiences aren't so much on the edge of their seats in anticipation as they are bored and restless after having to sit through so much world-building and character work, most of which is unnecessary and, more to the point, not especially memorable. The movie should instead have dove right into Banner getting the radiation dose, and by the 15-20 minute mark, have him transform into the Hulk for the first time. Once this has been established, Lee will have grabbed audience's attention sufficiently that he can then throw in some more talky scenes without risking losing his audience too much.

Still, when we say "have the Hulk show up 25 minutes earlier", we also mean, "cut 25 minutes from the run-time", because as it stands, Hulk is just too long. By the time the film's over, viewers are drained and tired, yet if it clocked in at less than 2 hours, it would be considerably more watchable.
