10 Small Changes That Would Have Improved The Star Wars Prequels

7. Less Green Screen

Anakin vs Obi

While I'm not of the opinion that less CGI should have been used in the prequels, I do think they could have cut down significantly on the amount of green screen used and focused more on using sets instead. Despite having a loaded cast filled with excellent actors such as Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Samuel Jackson, and Chrisopher Lee, the acting in the Prequels was mostly subpar. Most of the trouble came from the constant use of green screen, which takes the actors out of the scene and makes it hard to give a natural performance as they have no surroundings to interact with. Allowing the actors an opportunity to actually act would have somewhat diminished the fact that they had no good lines to say and would have allowed the films to take advantage of some of the great actors they had.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
