10 Small Changes That Would Have Improved The Star Wars Prequels

6. Better Lightsaber Fights In Revenge of the Sith

For most of the prequel trilogy, the lightsaber fights had been one of the few aspects that had lived up to the expectations people had for the trilogy. The three way fight between Darth Maul, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon was the highlight of the Phantom Menace and the showdown at the end of Attack of the Clones was satisfactory, but the duels in Revenge of the Sith were surprisingly mediocre. In particular, the fight when Mace Windu and the other Jedi confront Palpatine is almost embarrassingly bad and the showdown between Obi-Wan and General Grievous isn't much better. The confrontation between Obi-Wan and Anakin was supposed to be the iconic moment of the prequel trilogy, but Lucas almost tried to hard to make it epic (having them jump across lava fields etc€) when it should have remained more of a grounded, personal fight.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
