10 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching The Nun

3. Sister Irene's Warren Connection

The Nun
Warner Bros.

Given the fact that Sister Irene is portrayed by Taissa Farmiga, the real life sister of Vera Farmiga who plays Lorraine Warren in the main Conjuring series, theories around the link between the two heroines was always going to be on the cards even before the Nun hit cinemas.

And whilst the filmmakers have always maintained that there is no link between the pair, one subtle moment revisited the second time around could change that.

Both Irene and Lorraine are medians and have the gift of being able to see visions of the past, present and future, and both have an eerie link to Valak.

Sister Irene's passport in the Nun is shown for a split second and would usually not be given a moment's notice by most audiences. However, looking at Irene's date of birth shows that the young Sister was born in Bridgeport in Connecticut around three years after the real world birth of Lorraine Warren.

This otherwise small detail is properly launched into conspiracy theorist territory when audiences learn that Bridgeport is exactly where Lorraine was born. Whatever the connection might be, this one detail looks far too specific to be written off as a coincidence.
