10 Smartest Horror Movie Decisions (That Still Got People Killed)

7. Completing The Trap - Saw III

10 Cloverfield Lane
Lionsgate

This one hardly feels fair really. Poor Detective Allison Kerry arrives at the scene of what appears to be a classic Jigsaw killing - only to rightly point out that there's been some fiddling afoot as the victim had no chance of escaping. Well, that's not very cash money of him, is it?

Kerry then finds herself stuck in one such trap where her ribs are hooked up to a wing-like mechanism that will tear out her insides when a timer runs out, in front of a vat of acid holds the key to her escape. Kerry, the badass that she is, manages to fish it out by DISSOLVING HER HAND and unlocks her restraints in time by playing to the rules, which is the smartest decision one can make when you're in the clutches of a fatal trap.

But hang on one goddamn minute here: the trap doesn't open! Apprentice Amanda has gotten her grubby paws all over it and rigged it to be unwinnable, which is both incredibly unsportsmanlike and just kind of a dick move, really.

Despite being smart and resilient, and making all the right moves in the heat of the moment, Kerry still bit the dust anyway. RIP in pieces.
