The Rocky movie franchise was blessed with some fantastic songs, but one song from Rocky IV took things to a whole new level. John Cafferty penned a track so good, that you’ll feel like you’re going into battle yourself.

Entitled ‘Hearts on Fire,’ the track plays over Rocky’s epic training montage before his fight with Drago. But it’s the way in which it powers forward that really gets the viewer’s adrenaline pumping.

Sure, it’s got ‘80s written all over it, but it also has a Bruce Springsteen-esque flair that is impossible to deny. The song expertly nails the motivational heartland rock that it aims for. By the time Rocky makes his way to the top of the mountain, you’ll be ready to cheer the flawed fighter all the way through his epic confrontation with the Russian tank Drago.

The Rocky films have a great archive of motivating cuts, but few possess the same intense drive that Cafferty’s ‘Hearts on Fire’ possesses. If this one doesn’t get you pumped up, you might want to check your pulse.
