10 Spoilers We Already Know About Marvel's Phase 3

8. The Death Of Thor

One of Marvel€™s less talked about announcements was the sub title of Thor€™s third film €“ Ragnarok - a significant hint of the character's fate, as Ragnarok was introduced after Thor had been missing, presumed dead, for a substantial amount of time. Tony Stark, Hank Pym and Reed Richards cloned Thor from a hair, infused him with Stark€™s technology and unleashed him against the anti-registration heroes in Civil War. Ragnarok is more than simply a replacement character; it is the name of a 2004 comic book storyline that fed into the Avengers Disassembled plot. The word itself means the €˜twilight of the gods€™ and in the comic book storyline Asgard and its inhabitants, including Thor, were killed off for several years. This would explain why Thor is missing, and would give Stark the impetus to build a cyborg replacement for the missing Avenger. This cyborg of Thor had a skewed moral compass (on account of being a cyborg) and went too far, killing one of the heroes. Reed Richards had to shut him down and fix him to prevent this tragedy from being repeated. How much of this will be present in the film? Well, seeing as Civil War is happening, it is plausible that elements of both storylines will make it onto the screen in some way, shape, or form.
