10 Star Trek Characters That Are Still At Large

3. Ro Laren

This entry will hardly shock anyone as, in simple English - no body, no death. We never saw Ro Laren killed along with the rest of the Maquis, meaning she is still out there, biding her time. In previous entries, we have alluded to the reunion that would surely occur between Ro and Picard, but there are any number of directions her character could take.

The Maquis connection would make for a nice segway to a post Deep Space Nine or Voyager storyline. While the Maquis never really got fleshed out on the latter, there is still that initial connection that was written between Ro and Chakotay. He was to have been her instructor at the academy, before it was quietly retconned.

However, it wasn't confirmed on-screen, therefore it could easily be un-retconned. With Chakotay appearing in Star Trek: Prodigy, this could easily serve as the backdoor to bring Ro back to the Star Trek universe. Michelle Forbes is very much still working and shows no signs of slowing down, so bagging her now would be a huge victory for the franchise. It would also serve as an anchor for Chakotay when he returns to the post-Nemesis time period.

This is a character who's return would not simply serve to please fans, but works so well across several different iterations.
