10 Star Trek ‘Special Movie Events’ The Fans Want To See

9. Tales Of The Stargazer

As of writing this article, the original Stargazer has only appeared in The Battle, and Jack Crusher has only appeared in Family.

With the recent addition of the younger Jack Crusher to the franchise, there has been much discussion of his namesake's friendship with Jean-Luc. For years, we've heard tiny tales of the Stargazer, but only the assumed destruction of the ship was shown.

While the idea of casting younger actors to play Picard and Crusher may be sacrilege to some, it truly would be enjoyable to see this friendship played out on-screen. However, because we're also sadistic, it makes the most sense to depict Crusher's death. With that story alone, we can see their friendship, the tragedy of the loss, and Picard bringing his friend's body back to Beverly, and Wesley.

Remember Wesley? Beverly's other son? No?

While there isn't much need to add more depth to Jean-Luc and Beverly's relationship, as it has been fleshed out quite successfully on The Next Generation and Picard, the exploration of Jack and Jean-Luc is something we've been told about for years, without getting the chance to experience it.
