10 Star Trek ‘Special Movie Events’ The Fans Want To See

8. The Attack On Khitomer

For an event with such long-last repercussions in the Beta Quadrant, it's actually quite a surprise that we haven't seen it depicted, either in a series, or a film.

The surprise attack on the Klingon colony by the Romulans has a huge knock-on effect. Not only does Worf lose his parents, but his father is posthumously blamed for leaking information to the enemy. This results in Worf accepting discommendation in front of the High Council - all to bury a lie that could shake the Empire into Civil War.

While we have seen the fallout from the attack, we haven't seen the lead up to it, or the actual attack itself. For example - was it an aerial bombardment, or was there a ground war? Previous Romulan tactics might suggest an aerial attack which, accidentally or no, led to the death of the Klingon responsible - Duras's father.

In a way, this is akin to the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagaski, as there was not an immediate declaration of war. In fact, while hostilities would continue between the empires for years to follow, this was a decisive Romulan victory.

As a student of history, this writer is intensely curious to see this finally depicted in live action.
