Boba Fett has always been a fan-favourite character, ever since he graced the silver screen in The Empire Strikes Back. So, when he unceremoniously died in a rather embarrassing fashion, by accidentally falling into the Sarlaac Pit, many believed the dastardly bounty hunter could still return.

Much to the delight of fans, Fett had escaped the clutches of the Sarlaac several times soon after the release of Return of the Jedi. In issue #81 of Marvel's comic, Jawas of Doom, Fett escaped his fate, but was shortly returned to the beast, thanks to Han Solo and Princess Leia. The bounty hunter would return for good in 1992's Dark Empire Comic to be a thorn in Solo's side once again.

Once the slate was wiped clean for the Star Wars continuity when Disney bought the franchise, Fett's fate became unclear. Then, with season two of The Mandalorian, Boba made a triumphant return as the badass bounty hunter fans always dreamed he could be. A year later in The Book of Boba Fett, it was revealed that the scoundrel had escaped the pit by burning his way out with his flamethrower, before passing out on the Tatooine sand dunes and being stripped of his armour by opportunistic Jawas.
