Han Solo's greatest talent isn't shooting first or piloting. This smuggler's greatest skill is his ability to talk his way out of anything. Whether he's handcuffed, imprisoned, or frozen in carbonite, the charismatic Corellian always has a trick up his sleeve to ensure he lives another day.

So, when he confronted his son, Ben Solo, after he embraced The Dark Side and became Kylo Ren, we all thought Han had a million contingencies ready.

But he didn't. Even though Han could've distracted, fought, or stalled Kylo Ren, he did something we had never seen before - he talked to him like a father.

Tragically, Han's words were not enough, as Kylo slew his dad with his lightsaber, causing him to fall into the chasm below.

What made this moment more heartwrenching is the fact that Han had no Plan B. Han truly believed his love for his only child was enough for him to see the error of his ways.

But it wasn't meant to be. Even though he survived encounters with bounty hunters, Hutts, and Darth freaking Vader, the legendary Han Solo was undone by his own flesh-and-blood.
