3. (Episode IV) Luke and Biggs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5aIQlJ0v-w You know what really
grinds my gears? How come Anakin gets a back story on life before becoming a Jedi and Luke doesn't? Sure, he had some back story with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru but that's really it, for soon after, Luke and C-3PO go off chasing R2-D2 and eventually they meet Obi-Wan. Here we can see Luke acting like a teenager living in a sandy crap world under the rule of the Empire. Here comes Biggs, a friend of Luke who reconnects with him and talks about his training at the Imperial Academy, but what kind of conversation would that be? Biggs goes on to tell Luke about how he's going to join the Rebellion because he doesn't want to be drafted by the Empire. I'll go into detail why this scene should be reinserted on the next page but for this particular scene, it gives a sense of how the Empire has grown, after Episode III and the power and authority they have. Also, it shows how the Empire is not all it's out to be as Luke and Biggs are talking about Tatooine and the Empire and how the Empire would never come here, Biggs then replies "Things can change."
