10 Star Wars Details Only Explained Outside Of The Films
4. The Fate Of The Empire Post-Endor - Aftermath, Alphabet Squadron, Battlefront 2
Sure blowing up a large and UBER expensive military station twice is likely to put any empire on its ass, even those of the galactic variety, but works like Alphabet Squadron, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and especially Star Wars: Aftermath, shows that it was nowhere near that easy to be rid of the Empire for good.
Oh sure, they were on their back foot something major, but a force that big is gonna take a few more kicks before they stay down. The true defeat of the empire came in the Aftermath trilogy, Alphabet Squadron, and to a slightly lesser extent, Battlefront 2.
In Alphabet Squadron, a ragtag group of pilots take out the empire's top fighter pilot squadron, Shadow Wing, crippling the imperial fleet with the loss of their best pilots. Battlefront 2's campaign sees the rebellion finish off the empire in various skirmishes after the battle of Endor, and Aftermath sees Norra Wexley help to put the empire down once and for all by eliminating Admiral Rae Sloane, and the last super star destroyer.
It took a lot of effort to finally be rid of the empire. Just a shame they got, what, MAYBE ten years to enjoy it?
