10 Star Wars Fates Worse Than Death

7. Frozen In Carbonite

Return of the Jedi Han Solo
Lucasfilm

You knew this one was coming!

Who wants to be a wall-decoration for Jabba the Hutt? Sure, it may be easy work, but the pay is terrible.

Captured by the Empire and frozen in Carbonite, Han Solo is given to the Hut as payment for his many misdeeds against him. Delivered by Boba Fett, there seems to be little chance of recovery for the errant smuggler.

While the period in which he is frozen is, in a way, the easy part - the knowledge of what is coming would be enough to drive a person mad. Sinking lower into that pit, with Boba Fett and Darth Vader looking down on him - what crueler way to meet your fate?

Only Solo could have mustered the energy to smile in the face of it all, thanks to Leia's 'I love you!'
