10 Star Wars Fates Worse Than Death

8. Spider-Maul

Darth Maul has had a very unlucky streak in his career. Being partnered with Darth Sidious didn't do him many favours, to be fair.

Although he managed to kill Qui-Gon Jinn in one to one combat, Obi-Wan managed to out-manoeuvre him, grab a lightsaber and chop the man in half, sending him hurtling down the reactor shaft on Naboo.

That should have been the end of it - but he survived.

He is then lost to insanity for a time, ending up on the junk world of Lotho Minor. Though his lower half is (somewhat) restored to him, he is from that point both at-times directionless (his dealings with the Sith would dwindle) and extremely dangerous, consumed by revenge.

His final hour comes once more at the hands of Obi-Wan, though years have passed with Maul's life full of hate. In many ways, the existence between his first and last meeting with Obi-Wan was worse than just a straightforward death.
