10 Star Wars Legends Characters We Desperately Want To Return

5. HK-47

A Sith assassin Droid built by Revan, HK-47 was a reoccurring supporting character who appeared in 2003’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, 2004’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords, 2011’s Star Wars: The Old Republic and the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion for 2003’s Star Wars Galaxies. He featured as a comedic character throughout the series who often accompanied the main characters on various missions.

As a Sith Assassin Droid, it was protocol for HK-47’s mind to be wiped before a mission; however as Revan was captured by the Jedi before his mission was completed, HK-47’s mind remained wiped during the events of Knights of the Old Republic. After eventually regaining his memories, he spent lots of his time aiding Revan and his companions in a variety of missions against the Sith. As a Droid, he was able to outlive his mortal allies and survived in secret on the planet Mustafar until just after the Battle of Yavin.

With the near immortality of Droids in the Star Wars universe, HK-47 is certainly a character that could be reintroduced to the new canon, not only in the Old Republic setting, but also in the current setting of the Skywalker Saga. He is very similar in character to K-2SO from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, another popular Droid character with fans of the new canon. HK-47 would fit in well with modern audiences, as well as being a call back for fans of Legends.
