10 Star Wars Mistakes You Can’t Unsee

4. Crew Member's Arm Invades A Wampa Shot - The Empire Strikes Back

Half of the charm of the Original Trilogy of Star Wars flicks was found in the genius use of practical effects evident throughout Luke, Han, and Leia's quest to foil the Empire. Yet, with this reliance on the material instead of the digital also came the potential for human error to rear its head during the finished article.

Look no further than the brilliantly terrifying moment a grizzly Wampa takes out Luke Skywalker on the back of his trusty Tauntaun in The Empire Strikes Back. In the heat of this intense blitz of brutality which sees the future-Jedi Master blindsided by a body-breaking limb, it's easy to forget that a crew member was actually underneath this fuzzy arm of fury. That is, until you spot the purple sleeve of said member of staff popping out ever so slightly as the Wampa's arm takes the Tauntaun by the throat.

If anything, the reminder that a person was flailing like a lunatic off-camera to achieve this vicious kill will make you adore the moment even more. But you likely won't look at the scene the same way again, all the same.
