If you've managed to get this far without noticing one of Lucasfilm's biggest errors to date, then your writer wholeheartedly apologises for the following entry. But you knew what you signed up for.

In all honesty, it's not hard to see why many fans have managed to get through their lives without spotting their favourite smuggler's attire having a mad one in arguably his most iconic scene. There was a lot going on! But that still doesn't get around the fact that Han Solo's jacket simply couldn't make its mind up in the lead-up to the pilot of the Millennium Falcon being frozen in carbonite.

Going from being jacket-less as he shares a smooch with Leia to donning the coat as he infamously declared "I know", it was only a matter of time before fans called out the odd piece of costume calamity. In fairness to Lucas, he did see the error of his ways in the end, opting to lighten the jacket to match Harrison Ford's undershirt in the HD remastered version of the flick. But those who still retain an OG copy of Empire won't be forgetting this blotch on a truly iconic moment any time soon.
