10 Star Wars Moments IMPOSSIBLE To Watch The Same After This
7. Luke's Last Leia Kiss Wasn't In The Script - The Last Jedi
Providing The Last Jedi with a far less controversial kiss than some of the other ones the siblings had uncomfortably shared, Luke Skywalker's emotional peck on his sister Leia Organa's forehead before his confrontation with Kylo Ren was up there as one of the Sequel Trilogy's most moving moments.
But what you may not be aware of is the fact that this specific part of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher's scene together in Episode VIII wasn't actually scripted.
Hamill would note on Twitter that this was an "emotionally charged day on set" due to the fact that Luke knew he was saying "goodbye... forever." So, in a truly touching moment, Hamill chose to land an "unscripted & spontaneous" kiss on Fisher's head, "summarizing his/my feelings in a way words could never have conveyed", as he put it.
An emotionally charged day on set filming this because, knowing he was about to sacrifice his life for the greater good, Luke was saying goodbye... forever. The kiss was unscripted & spontaneous in the moment, summarizing his/my feelings in a way words could never have conveyed. https://t.co/l6Ap50WO8U

Talk about making an already heartbreaking sequence even harder to sit through without bawling like a baby, eh?
