10 Star Wars Moments That Are Incredibly Stupid

8. Darth Vader Goes In Himself - A New Hope

darth-vader-star-wars Why did Darth Vader go into the trench to shoot at rebels himself? Doing that meant that all the guns went silent. One of the X-Wing pilots (yes, I can tell the difference between purely fictional X, A, and B wings) points out in his Oscar-winning line that €œthe guns, they€™ve stopped.€ Vader didn€™t go head off the rebels, or shoot at them from above. He jumped into the trench so that the Death Star would have to stop shooting at the rebels, then chased them around a bit. He has an entire fleet and battle station at his command, but he jumps in a little ship and starts whizzing around. It€™s stupid. How did he survive this long?
