The General Grievous who made his debut in the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated micro-series was an absolute menace, and a terrifying one at that.

This is perhaps best shown during a sequence that likely gave many a youngster a few nightmares involving Grievous trying to get his many hands on Chancellor Palpatine.

As Jedi Master Shaak Ti tried her best to protect the eventual Emperor, the relentless cyborg proceeded to brutally carve, boot, and stomp his way through the clones and guards tasked with stopping him.

With viewers knowing precisely what the Jedi-killing force was capable of as the slashes and screams grew louder, the fear was real.

Grievous then refusing to give up his pursuit and scrambling down the side of the building while the Chancellor travels via elevator again felt like something ripped right out of a damn horror movie.

It didn't matter how bravely the likes of Shaak Ti and pals fought, there was simply no stopping this mechanical demon, and his vicious rampage here is something that still haunts those who grew up on the underrated show to this day.

Even in 2024, first-time viewers of the Genndy Tartakovsky show will no doubt be shaken up by the unstoppable monster, too. (Just so long as they forget about the far less threatening version of the General seen in subsequent movies and TV shows.)
