10 Steps To Successfully Reboot The X-Men Into The MCU
5. Use Scarlet Witch
It appears that there are big plans in the future for Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch as part of Phase Four and beyond, after the actress spent the first few years of her MCU residency without having anything of great importance to do.
Her co-headlining turn in Disney Plus' WandaVision will reportedly have huge implications for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where Olsen will take second billing behind Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme. Kevin Feige has already touted the sequel as a potential game-changer for the entire franchise, as well as claiming that Scarlet Witch could very well be the most powerful character in the entire MCU.
Wanda Maximoff has an in-depth and extensive history with the X-Men in the comic books, and there are any number of possible story arcs that provide ample inspiration for how Marvel Studios could tie the rebooted version of the team to their existing continuity. They could even retcon her origin story to make her both Magneto's daughter and a mutant, and it would still make sense within the context of the MCU while also acting as the bridge between the franchise's familiar faces and newest recruits.
