10 Strange Plot Holes From Famous Movies (That Rarely Get Mentioned)

6. Why Did The Marines Leave No-One On The Ship - Aliens

005 Like the original film, Aliens is often considered among the best sci-fi films ever made and also like the original, it features several plot holes. One of the most annoying is that even though it features a group of trained marines, no one thought to leave anyone behind on the ship in case anything went wrong. Once things started to go wrong on the surface of LV-426, the marines have to remote fly a drop-ship in when if they had just brought a few extra people to leave as backup, they could have just radioed for evacuation right at the beginning. More plot holes in Aliens include why the marines still use essentially modern weaponry and how Ripley is strong enough to pull herself out of a vacuum at the end of the film.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
