10 Strange Ways Actors Prepared For Recent Movie Roles
1. Brett Goldstein Had Two Weeks To Get In God Shape - Thor: Love And Thunder
It's been well documented just how far Chris Hemsworth has consistently gone to produce the godly physique of Thor in time for his many MCU outings as The God of Thunder. And this year's Love and Thunder rom-com of sorts was no different, with Hemsworth getting as big as he's ever been for the godly part.
And sure, fine-tuning your body into ridiculous superhero shape over the course of a few months is pretty impressive. But having to produce a god-bod in just TWO WEEKS is about as super-human as it gets.
That's precisely the unenviable scenario Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein found himself in when Taika Waititi suddenly dropped the reality of rocking up as Hercules in the film's post-credit scene at his door just a few week's before said scene was due to be shot.
As Goldstein would recall to The Playlist, after clarifying with the director that he had next to no time at all to get jacked for the part:
"I said, “He doesn’t have to be as big as Thor, does he?” And look, on the day, I mean, I’m doing 400 pushups that day. I was fit to explode. I did the best I could on that day, yeah."
And his best was pretty damn spectacular, I'm sure you'll agree, with his hulking version of Zeus' son more than living up to the billing in his fleeting cameo in the end.
