You'd be forgiven for assuming that Oscar-winning sensation Daniel Kaluuya is as comfortable on horseback as he is in just about every single other scenario he's thrust into when the time comes to deliver the goods on the big-screen, what with the star spending much of Jordan Peele's recent slice of daylight horror Nope sat on one of the faithful beasts.

But saddling up was actually a far more difficult task than the actor would have you believe in the finished article itself, with Kaluuya noting how he had to overcome some serious PTSD in order to effectively play OJ Haywood in the flick.

Citing a "bad accident" he had a few years ago during another job, Kaluuya would explain to the BBC that he only "had a week, like, to get over my PTSD in order to get ready to kind of actually kind of get good at horse riding.”

However, the star's need to master this skill in next to no time at all - cleaning out stalls and going on rides in his spare time whilst in the thick of shooting as well - remarkably led to a breakthrough in terms of understanding his character, with Kaluuya explaining how "as I was getting better at riding, I was getting closer to OJ as a character.”

All in all, Kaluuya took getting back on the horse very literally, I suppose.
