1. Norbit - Best Makeup (2008)
Here I go with make up again, but no list of WTF Oscar moments would be complete without this shocker. Both Click and Norbit have a single thing in common - they both make mediocre comedians fat for a movie. (Im talk about present day Eddie, not '90s Eddie... nothing mediocre about that guy). I dont know what it is about the Academy that makes them all hot and tingly for a fat suit. Ryan Reynolds did it for Just Friends, hell Ben Stiller did it for the end credits of Dodgeball, why werent those makeup artists nominated? Because fat suits suck. Norbit is arguable Eddies worst movie. With a whopping 3.7 rating on IMDB, this movie is the epitome of terrible. Eddie plays a three characters in this movie- each more offensive than the last. What happened to golden day Eddie? Why couldnt he just stick to his roots instead of playing a character named Rasputia (a veiled reference to Rasputin? Who knows, this movie isnt smart enough to even care). Again there is a cavalcade of movies that year that could have been nominated in its stead. No Country for Old Men, There will be Blood, Elizabeth the Golden age, these are all movies well deserving of a nod to the makeup department but instead Eddie in a fat suit was added to the Ballot. Was Sweeney Todd not even considered?
