One of the major criticisms facing the final Brosnan Bond flick, Die Another Day, was the replacement of realistic action scenes with low quality CGI. With scenes containing surfing off melting glaciers, car chases in invisible cars and a finale in a poorly rendered 'Plane', there was a real fake feel to the action scenes on offer. With this is mind, it came as a surprise as to just how many injuries were suffered by the cast in the filming of the scenes few non CGI action sequences.

The first injury occurred early on in filming when Pierce Brosnan twisted his knee when leaping on to a hoverboard as part of the pre credit sequence. This however was nothing compared to the injury that befell Halle Berry, who suffered an eye injury in the most peculiar way.

When filming an action sequence that required exploding grenades, a gust of wind caused debris from the explosion to blow into Berry's eye. After a thirty minute operation, the debris was removed with no permanent damage, with Berry back on board for filming that day. It could have been a lot worse however, the Doctor on set reporting that Berry was quite fortunate.

The film's troubled production didn't hurt it at the box office, although the critical response was so poor that the decision was made to reboot the Bond series for the first time, with Daniel Craig taking over from Brosnan.
