10 Superhero Films That Abused Us Worse Than Fantastic Four
10. Hulk
By far the classiest movie on this list, and a genuinely decent movie in its own right. Like Trank's Fantastic Four, Ang Lee took the character of the Hulk and tried to mould it into his own vision; a deeply intelligent, deeply deep examination of a troubled human mind. With, only occasionally, a bit of Hulk smashing. Unfortunately, that's not what audiences want from a Hulk movie, and it resulted in one of the more interesting failures of our time. It looks good and it's well acted, but the lack of Hulk action combined with a nebulous, boring villain (Hulk literally battles a cloud during the finale) made it a chore to sit through. Interestingly, 2008's The Incredible Hulk didn't fare too much better with critics and audiences alike, proving that maybe the character works better as part of a team line-up. At least that film remembered to bring the smashing, though.
