The Reasoning: Say Goodbye Before He Outstays His Welcome You may have heard recently that Marvel are planning to do away with one of their most popular superheroes for real. Seriously: the comic book giants recently confirmed that Wolverine is going to be killed off in an upcoming 4-part story arc. Who would have thought such a thing possible? And yet, despite the fact that Wolverine will disappear from the page, we'll still be able to experience those trademark claws on the big screen. Right? Most likely, yes. But given that Hugh Jackman - great as he is - has reprised the role of Wolverine more times than we can count (well, we can count actually: it's seven), it is blasphemy to say that we're getting a little too familiar with this character? Would it not rock the cinematic X-Men world if its most reliable hero were murdered at the beginning of the next film? The stakes would certainly be heightened, enriching the universe in multiple ways.
