10 Supernatural Heroes We Can’t Wait To See In The MCU

5. Man-Thing

Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider

Kale's origin is deeply tied to Man-Thing, with whom she frequently partners in the comics.

Often branded "Marvel's Swamp-Thing," he actually predates the DC character by a couple of months. Part of his origins have already been hinted at in the MCU: his in-comic wife, Ellen Brandt, was a villain in Iron Man 3. In the comics, Man-Thing's true identity is Ted Sallis, a scientist in Florida who was trying to replicate the super-soldier serum. After being betrayed by Brandt and her A.I.M. cohorts, he injected himself with the serum and fled, crashing his car into the swamp and stumbling into an interdimensional gateway called the Nexus of All Realities. He was promptly transformed into the red-eyed, reality-hopping protector of the Nexus.

The lumbering Man-Thing rarely communicates verbally, which would make him a Groot- or Phase 1 Hulk-like character. His affinity for interdimensional travel would also make him a perfect fit for where the MCU seems to be headed. His membership in the Legion of Monsters and the Thunderbolts had him rubbing elbows with Werewolf by Night and Satana, respectively. What's more, if rumors are to be believed, he'll be making an appearance in the upcoming Disney+ Halloween special (allegedly Werewolf by Night).

Here's hoping we get another big green buddy.
