10 Supporting Actors Who Totally Stole The Movie

4. Melissa McCarthy - Bridesmaids

Directed by comedy giant Paul Feig and co-written by Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig, 2011's Bridesmaids helped breath new life into the genre most commonly known as "Chick Flicks".

Starring Wiig as the maid of honour at her best friend's wedding, Bridesmaids was praised for its humour, mostly-female cast, and the performance of one Melissa McCarthy.

McCarthy was already known for her roles in Gilmore Girls and Mike and Molly, but her turn as the chaotic Megan Price in this movie catapulted her to instant stardom.

She was frequently singled out as the best part of the entire movie, thanks to her excellent comic delivery and willingness to take the low road.

Like, a really low road. That scene in the bathroom will stay with you until your dying day.

In a frankly shocking turn of events, McCarthy was even nominated for an Oscar for her role in this film! An Oscar! For pooping into a sink! Sidney Poitier is judging us all from Heaven.

He can judge all he likes though, but McCarthy excels in this picture and has gone on to do great things off the back of it.
