10 Supposedly Badass Film Moments (That Were Totally Underwhelming)
5. Black Panther - The Rhino Charge
Just... why?
One of Black Panthers' biggest drawbacks were some shoddy usages of CGI, and one of the biggest misuses of it came in the films climactic battle when W'kabi blows a horn that summons some particularly grim-looking Rhinos to join the party.
Yes the CGI looks bad, and it does take a lot of impedes away from the battle that's going on, but a bigger problem is why they were brought into the mix in the first place?
Despite outnumbering T'Challa and his bodyguards heavily, W'kabi decides there is no kill like overkill and calls in the horned monstrosities to lend them a hand in winning the battle, and it doesn't make any sense.
The final battle goes from being a constitutional crisis to a scaled-down version of the Mumakil charging across the Pelennor Fields, and I think it's safe to say that film still has the better CGI even 15 years later.
If M'baku and his Jabari warriors had arrived earlier to help then it would have made sense for the Rhinos to be brought in to win the day, but the time they are called in and the way they look is just too jarring and takes all the punch out of the final battle.
