10 Tarantino Brands That Don't Actually Exist in Real Life

5. American Maniacs

American Maniacs, an early reality expose TV series hosted by Australian Wayne Gale, plays a pivotal part in Natural Born Killers. Gale, a sensationalistic reporter to say the least, covers the gamut when it comes to American serial killers. He has done features on all the big ones, from Bundy to Gacy. His latest coverage, and the subject of his highest ratings (except for Manson of course) is that of Mickey and Mallory (Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis). Gale and his crew are given an exclusive interview inside the walls of Batongaville Penitentiary with Mickey, finding what goes on inside the mind of a natural born killer. Soon what turns into an interview becomes a full fledged riot in the prison all caught live on camera. This device is used to great effect in Natural Born Killers, and although Tarantino's original screenplay was altered by director Oliver Stone and company, the structure for what Tarantino had created is still a great blueprint for a scathing comment on how media can manipulate the news into entertainment and vice versa.
