10 Terrible 2014 Films That Tricked Us With Awesome Posters

6. Horns

Why The Poster Works: The posters for Horns weren't particularly imaginative, but this one for example did successfully tease something very different for former Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe. While Rupert Grint has faded into obscurity and Emma Watson has found huge success, Radcliffe has found himself somewhere in the middle of both of those and in desperate need of a defining role outside of the magical world created by J.K. Rowling. A fairly simplistic design, this poster did a solid job of promising something new from the young British actor, and the use of red on the grey background definitely helps it stand out from the crowd. Why The Movie Sucked: Well, the poster stood out, but the movie itself certainly didn't. Hardcore fans of Radcliffe and the fantasy/horror genre may have found something to love, but Horns really didn't bring anything new to the table for everyone else. It tried to do too much, mixing those elements with comedy and romance, and it was that which made it ultimately so unsatisfying an experience. The budget certainly didn't help matters either, as the horns looked daft and the special effects were questionable (Radcliffe's final transformation was somewhat impressive though). A decent poster for a movie which was far from it.
