10 Terrible 2014 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween
8. Devil's Due
The Pitch: A found footage take on Rosemary's Baby, a horror revolving around one couple's rollercoaster ride of a pregnancy and the mysterious forces closing in on them. Why It Sucked: Despite a few effective moments and not-awful performances, the central couple are mostly irritating and unlikeable, the set-up is ridiculously contrived and above all else, all the jump scares are painfully predictable. That the camera just so happens to cover every improbable moment is incredibly distracting, several moments are unintentionally funny, and the ending is incredibly lame. Will There Be A Sequel?: The eye-rollingly sequel-baiting conclusion sets up a potential franchise, but it hasn't really been earned. Still, with over $36 million in box office receipts against a $7 million budget, Devil's Two is certainly possible.
