10 Terrible 2014 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween
9. The Quiet Ones
The Pitch: The latest effort from the resurrected Hammer Horror label, revolving around a professor (Jared Harris) trying to create a poltergeist in an effort to prove that they are, in fact, a fabrication. Why It Sucked: Though the premise is interesting enough, The Quiet Ones is a film that simply won't stick in the mind long after the credits roll. Jared Harris and Olivia Cooke give solid performances, but it's not remotely scary, and long sections of the film are soul-destroyingly dull. Another let-down for Hammer, then. Will There Be A Sequel?: It made a modest profit, though likely not enough to justify any more stories in this vein. Basically, it's doubtful.
