5. Christopher Mintz-Plasse
Sure, like just about everyone, I found Christopher Mintz-Plasse one of the funniest things about Greg Motollas superb 2007 comedy Superbad. He played McLovin, the punishingly awkward, bespectacled nerd whose famous Hawaiin ID resulted in plenty of chuckles, along with his ridiculous sexual escapades throughout the film. Great fun though he was, all hes proven since the films release is that hes a one-trick pony, and a pretty terrible actor at that. All the guy ever plays is the supporting awkward kid; the guy has no range whatsoever, which of course leads many to suggest that hes essentially playing himself and neglecting the acting part of a career in the movies. Sure, if an actors natural personality lines up with a film role, then great, but actors who play it safe and end up typecast have only themselves to blame when people get tired of their antics and label them as bad actors. Maybe the guy can shock us all and play something drastically different, but I wont hold my breath.
