Michael Myers' haunting pale mask is one of the most iconic not just in horror, but movies in general.

More often than not, that terrifying face leaves viewers jumping out of their skins, with the murderous figure regularly causing all kinds of bloody mayhem whenever he rears his head.

In one of the rare cases when that mask didn't frighten the life out of viewers, though, Halloween H20 decided to bring a computer-generated version of that unmistakable face to the party.

Said mask was actually tinkered with throughout the shooting process, with the filmmakers going through four different versions in the end and replacing various masks in reshoots. Though the different versions of it are still noticeable in a few scenes throughout the movie.

Due to them not being able to reshoot one specific scene involving Michael's face getting up close to Charlie Deveraux (Adam Hann-Byrd), though, director Steve Miner actually decided to go digital to make sure the face matched up with the final mask design they'd settled on.

What followed was one of the most jarring uses of CGI ever to haunt a horror movie (or your own mind), with that call to go through the effort of creating this ugly and unbelievable digital mask, rather than just finding a few hours to get a practical shot with the final mask in the can, leaving quite the stain on the 1998 slasher.
